My name is Hayley Mae Croke. I graduated from the University of Georgia with B.A. in Journalism and a certificate in New Media Studies. I have been covering both local and national news stories for the past 5 years, covering a plethora of topics, mainly specializing in entertainment and film stories. At the University of Georgia I majored in journalism, minored in film studies and gained a certificate in new media studies with the goal of entering the field of entertainment journalism. Some of my favorite publications included Vanity Fair, Variety and The Hollywood Reporter. I enjoy film critiques, but as you can see in my portolio below, I have covered a wide array of topics during my time as a reporter.
Through the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication’s curriculum I have completed classes such as Writing Across Platforms, Law of Mass Communication, Information Gathering, Photojournalism, International Mass Communication, Coding, Multiplatform Story Production, Feature Writing and the Grady College's Capstone Journalism course.
While my primary interests lie in entertainment journalism, I have experience in many sectors as well as skills that allow me to be capable of an tackling many diverse tasks. I am able to use both Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, I have practice with both digital and film cameras, and have experience with transcriptions and fact checking. I am proficient in Komodo Edit, Visual Studio Code, Java Script, Bootstrap and Wordpress.
